Vine and Vineyard students who are currently in grades kinder through 1st grade will have a FULL day of fun and activities at Camp Vine. Students will be grouped together by grades and will enjoy giant kickball, a huge jump pad, field games, splash pad and more!

  • 9:15 Dropoff
    Morning Meeting
    Kangaroo Jumper
    Kickball
    11:45 Lunch
    Mine Shaft Slide
    Crafts
    Field Games
    Splash Pad
    3:30 Pickup

  • Kinder and 1st grade campers have a schedule that is completely unique to them to ensure that they have the BEST day possible. Students in these grades should come wearing a swimsuit under their clothes and should bring a towel and a change of clothes for the ride home in a backpack. They’ll be getting wet! They also should bring a water bottle.

Current Grades 2-6
$55

Current Vine and Vineyard students grades 2-6 get to enjoy an upgraded day at camp, with all students getting to do either the climbing wall and giant swing OR zip line, along with all the other activities they love: giant kickball, archery or ax throwing,* mine shaft slide and group games. Our 6th graders will also get to bond through some team building low ropes challenges.

*Schedules and activities vary for each grade due to scheduling challenges. Ax throwing is for grades 5 & 6 only. ALL students have a fun, packed day.

**There are a limited number of spots available for the climbing wall/giant swing and zip line due to the time it takes to get students through. If you really prefer one challenge over the other, be sure to sign up early!

  • The day might look like:

    9:15 Drop off
    Morning Meeting
    Mine Shaft
    Archery or Ax Throwing
    12:30 Lunch
    Field games
    Zipline / Climbing wall
    Kickball
    3:30 Pickup

  • We are so excited to offer high ropes options to ALL Camp Vine students grades 2 and up this year! Because we can only get a certain number of students through these activities in the given time, we are having students sign up for their preferred activity when you sign up. Both options are in the same area and both offer a fun challenge and thrill!

The first option is the zipline where two students race each other as they soar over the camp. The other option is the climbing wall and giant triple swing. Students can try their hand at the climbing wall and then drop from whatever height they choose on the triple swing. Don’t wanna climb but just want to do the swing? That’s an option, too!

Camp can only happen with the help of parent volunteers.

While the YMCA & Camp Widjiwagon provides staff for the big things (archery, climbing wall, ziplines, etc.), Camp Vine is parent run and so we count on parents to stay with our students all day as we go from activity to activity. Each parent volunteer will be paired up with a group of students and will direct them from one station to the next. Or if you LOVE kickball, field games or crafts, let us know and we’ll have you help out there!

We ESPECIALLY need parent volunteers for our older grades, so please consider volunteering if you have a student in grades 4 and up! We tend to get a LOT of kindergarten volunteers — I cannot guarantee that you will be with your student’s age group.

I’m also looking for a few key people to help for the day. These positions are FREE (we’ll cover your cost):
- nurse for bumps and bruises
- photographer
- camp MC to run morning and afternoon games (think minute-to-win-it)

This year, all volunteers will have a quick pre-camp zoom meeting the week before camp to go over the schedule and processes to make sure that camp runs as smoothly as possible and to keep everyone properly prepared.

There is a small $20-23* fee to volunteer which covers your lunch and t-shirt. Camp volunteers will receive all 8 of your volunteer hours for helping for the day!!

*depends on shirt size for cost

What to wear:
Students should wear activewear that they don’t mind getting dirty. Students in grades K-1 should wear swimwear UNDER their clothes. Closed-toed shoes are required for kids grades 2-6 (no crocs) due to the ropes activities, and sunscreen and bug repellent are recommended. Bring a rain jacket or sweatshirt if it looks like it could rain.

What to bring:
Most students only need to bring a filled water bottle for the day! Younger students (grades K-1 only) should bring a towel in a backpack for the splashpad. If your older student wants to bring a backpack for their jacket and water, they can but they will have to keep it with them all day.

Drop-off and Pickup:
This is a drop off camp! Parents will drop off their students in the loop in the morning. In the afternoon we’ll have parents park in the gravel lot and walk over to sign out their campers in the pavillion.

Registration:
Every camper and parent volunteer must be registered! You can register a student here and as a parent volunteer here. Each family group is also required to fill out a camp waiver. Non-registered students will be sent home due to very limited space. This camp is ONLY for Vine and Vineyard students — sorry, no outside friends, neighbors or non-Vine siblings. Sign up by April 24.

Waitlist + Refunds:
In the event that an age group sells out, I will create a waitlist. If you sign up but then are unable to attend, let me know and I can release your child’s spot to someone else who is waiting. Please do not give your place to another student! I can ONLY give a refund after April 24 if there is another student to take your student’s spot (I can give refunds before April 24). There will be NO exchanges or refunds after MAY 13, and I can’t guarantee I’ll have a camp t-shirt for waitlisted students.

  • Camp Vine is for current Vine and Vineyard students in grades kindergarten through 6th grades (register based on your CURRENT GRADE). Sorry, friends, neighbors, siblings, and pre-k students cannot attend. We’re planning something special just for our 7th and 8th grade outside of camp.

  • Camp Vine is a drop off day camp! If you want to stay with your child, we’d LOVE to have you as a volunteer.

  • Students will be placed on teams based on their current grade. Each grade has its own team this year.

  • Camp Vine is rain or shine! One year it poured and the students had the best day. We recommend bringing a rain jacket and making the most of it. We’ll move activities under coverings if needed.

  • Camp Widgi provides hot lunch + salad bar for every camper and volunteer. If you need a gluten free or vegetarian option, we have you covered! Please just note it on your child’s registration so we can make sure your lunch and snack are GF. We will also provide a snack.

  • We won’t be serving anything with nuts for lunch or snacks and we will offer a gluten free snack. If your student has severe food allergies or restrictions, feel free to send them with a packed lunch and a snack.

  • Nope! We will not be doing a gift shop at Camp Widgi so you don’t need to worry about sending your student with money.

  • Our parent volunteers will help check students in and check them out at the end of the day. Some parents will be asked to be in charge of crafts or games like kickball while others will stay with a team all day and tell them when it’s time to change to the next activity. We try to keep parents with their kids grade level but it isn’t always possible. Please be willing to go where we need you if you sign up to volunteer.
