For grades 2-3, the zipline is a short, one-way ride by the high ropes course (must be 50 lbs to zipline). For grades 4-5, the zipline soars across the camp and back, for a bigger thrill (must be 60 lbs for this zipline). You can select this upgrade when you sign up and pay.
Grades 6-8

Current Vine and Vineyard students grades 6-8 get to enjoy an upgraded day at camp, with all students getting to do either the high ropes course OR zip line, along with all the other activities they love: giant kickball, archery, bubble soccer and group games. Our hope is for our middle school ages students to bond and create lasting memories as they push through fears and challenges on the ropes course.
*There are a limited number of spots available for the high ropes course and zip line due to the time it takes to get students through. If you really prefer one challenge over the other, be sure to sign up early!

Camp can only happen with the help of parent volunteers.
While Deer Run provides staff for the big things (archery, ropes course, ziplines, etc.) we count on parents to stay with our students all day as we go from activity to activity. Each parent volunteer will be paired up with a group of students and will direct them from one station to the next.
We ESPECIALLY need parent volunteers for our older grades, so please consider volunteering if you have a student in grades 4 and up!
This year, all volunteers will have a quick pre-camp zoom meeting the week before camp to go over the schedule and processes to make sure that camp runs as smoothly as possible and to keep everyone properly prepared.
There is a small $15 fee to volunteer which covers your registration fee and lunch. Camp volunteers will receive all 8 of your volunteer hours for helping for the day!!
What to wear:
Students should wear activewear that they don’t mind getting dirty. Closed toed shoes are required (no crocs) and sunscreen and bug repellent are recommended. Bring a rain jacket or sweatshirt if it looks like it could rain.
What to bring:
Students only need to bring a filled water bottle for the day! If your student wants to bring a backpack for their jacket and water, they can but they will have to keep it with them all day.
Drop-off and Pickup:
This is a drop off camp! Parents will drop off their students at the bottom of the hill and pick them up in the same place without getting out of their car. We’ve been working hard to speed up this process!
Registration:
Every camper and parent volunteer must be registered! You can register a student here and as a parent here.

-
Camp Vine is for current Vine and Vineyard students in grades kindergarten through 8th. Sorry, friends, siblings, and pre-k students cannot attend.
-
Camp Vine is a drop off day camp! If you want to stay with your child, we’d LOVE to have you as a volunteer.
-
Students will be placed on teams based on their current grade. Usually 2 grades are together on a team, but sometimes 3 grades are combined.
-
Camp Vine is rain or shine! Last year it poured and the students had the best day. We recommend bringing a rain jacket and making the most of it. We’ll move activities indoors if needed. Deer Run will allow us to reschedule if extreme storms are in the forecast.
-
Deer Run provides lunch for every camper and volunteer. If you need a gluten free or vegetarian option, just select it when you register. We will also provide a snack.
-
Deer Run is a nut free campus. They also offer gluten free and vegetarian lunches upon request (select this when you register). If your student has severe food allergies or restrictions, feel free to send them with a packed lunch and a snack.
-
YES! The gift shop was a huge hit last year. Parents are welcome to send students with cash to shop after lunch. The gift shop has treats and trinkets and all sorts of camp-themed items available for purchase.
-
Our parent volunteers will help check students in and check them out at the end of the day. Some parents will be asked to be in charge of games like kickball while others will stay with a team all day and tell them when it’s time to change to the next activity. We try to keep parents with their kids grade level but it isn’t always possible.
