We believe that the social development of our students in just as important as the academic development. We offer numerous opportunities for community building through monthly field trips, class parties, donuts with dad, upper school dances and our annual Camp Vine day.

Our students attend chapel once a month, where they recite pledges to the flag, worship together, introduce our monthly Bible memory verse and hear a short message. Students can audition to join the worship team and help lead the campus in worship as well as run to be a part of Student Leadership, and help the chapel program as a whole by opening in prayer or leading the pledges.

Chapel is also where all students receive character awards, that celebrate their God-given traits, from their classroom teacher. The commitment to calling out what God has set inside our students is one we uphold from Pre-K through 12th grade, with the addition in the upper grades of earned Academic Achievement awards (which are given quarterly). We delight in our families attending chapel beside our students, as it gives insight to how we grow our program’s culture with Christ at the center.

Monthly Chapel

Our students on campus enjoy a regular rotation of seasonal celebrations at Vine -  we love to celebrate holidays by ushering in a little fun through the academic year. Students enjoy parties that accompany Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day (elementary only) and Easter as well as special events like Donuts with Dad and Mother’s Day Tea in the elementary ages. Our upper grades have enjoyed social-emphasis style events of their own like glow in the dark foam parties, bingo night, silent disco, karaoke and more. An annual Father/Daughter dance, located off site, has been as popular as our upper grade High School Prom! Whether the events we host are on campus or off, our goal is to create an environment where students and families can look forward to attending, with our community upheld.

Community Events & Celebrations

We offer monthly grade-appropriate field trips to expose our students to a wide variety of experiences. The goal of field trips is to foster community and enrich student’s learning. Some recent field trips include Soundwaves, Lane Motor Museum, Huntsville Space and Rocket Center, Lucky Ladd Farm, The Clay Lady, and Polk House. Our hope is to include benchmark field trips that would be memorable for our students, beginning with our most recently scheduled: an 8th grade Washington DC trip in 2025! We hope to offer more opportunities to come, creating a rich dynamic of friendships and educational experiences in the future.

Field Trips & Events

Our school year ends with a day at camp which we call Camp Vine! Students enjoy a full day of activities at a local camp from archery and kickball to a high-flying zipline. This is a one-day experience is a memory maker, full of fun for our K-8 students and parent volunteers alike!

Camp Vine

We view sports as an extension of the work we’re already doing at Vine. Our appropriately picked mascot, the Royals, is a further emphasis on what we believe about the student body we serve: children of the one true King, with an inheritance that is firmly rooted in Christ. Vine Christian Academy is seeking to passionately align and grow our sports program, which launched with two cheerleading teams in 2023. Our hope is to be a refuge for homeschooled students within the local community, offering a private school team experience in various sports. As we work to align teams to cheer for, our cheerleaders themselves are in the midst of a strong second season, with coaches dedicated to carrying our mission and vision out on the mats at each practice and competition.

Because this is a place of parent partnership, we anticipate that many sports team emerging at Vine will be out of the overflow of the community we serve - and we anticipate teams shaping themselves with coaches rising up from their calling to serve. For more information on how to host a sport through Vine, email us! All sports through Vine will be open to the greater homeschooling community.
